February 2017 – Teaching Aids for Music’s Little Hands On Rhythm

Immediately following our February 2017 meeting on February 6th, the MMTA will be hosting Teaching Aids for Music (T.A.M.) for a workshop on Little Hands On Rhythm teaching tools, exclusive for the MMTA members.  This workshop is an opportunity for teachers to view teaching tools from T.A.M. (Teaching Aids for Music) and see how they can be used as a comprehensive and fun way to explore rhythm with your students.

Little Hands on Rhythm is designed to facilitate the young music student’s comprehension of rhythmic concepts by:

  • Including all the rhythmic components necessary to explain rhythmic concepts
  • Using large scale magnetic manipulatives that support hands-on learning
  • Using a unique tri-fold magnetic board with graphics designed for teaching rhythm
  • Converting abstract rhythmic concepts into concrete forms
  • Making rhythmic reading accessible to students with diverse learning modalities
  • Making rhythm fun and interactive for young students
